Welcome to Conversational Phrases!
We've found that the best way to learn a language is to speak it from day one! And the best way to start speaking is to learn phrases that you'll use in real conversations.
In this lesson, you’ll learn how to ask where something is located. After watching this video, you’ll be able to ask for directions.
Now, let's take a look at some conversational phrases!
Listen to the dialogue.
Hol van a szupermarket?
Ott van.
Once more with the English translation.
Hol van a szupermarket?
“Where is the supermarket?”
Ott van.
“It's over there.”
First of all you'll need to learn how to say "Where is [place]?"
The pattern is: Hol van [place]?
"Where is [place]?".
For example:
"Where is the supermarket?"
Hol van a szupermarket?, Hol van a szupermarket?
Now, how do you answer this question?
Ott van.
"It's over there."
Listen to it again: Ott van., Ott van.
This Hungarian sentence translates as "There is." But it means "It's over there."
